As can be seen from the texture image, the plasterboard that makes up much of the wall space in Absolution is a fairly plain, smooth surface. However, using the bump mapping process extra detail can be added, without making the surface look dirty.

The result is a less than perfect, slightly blotted surface, with a final specula layer providing a realistic sheen.
